Keepin' It Natural!

Hi guys and gals! A little bit about why we believe in "Keepin' it Natural!"

Here at Addictive Cosmetics we pride ourselves in providing all natural cosmetics and skincare. We also only use vegan friendly and cruelty free ingredients. You can feel good about supporting our brand because we LOVE our furry friends just as much as you do!

Our products are made with Mother Earths finest ingredients, no gluten or soy and non comedogenic (meaning doesn’t clog pores). No fillers, parabens, sulfates, preservatives, additives, bismuths or dyes. For those with sensitive skin, rosacea or acne, mineral makeup helps minimize skin flare ups. Over the counter cosmetic lines add synthetic ingredients that are harsh and irratate skin.

Most common ingredients used by Addictive Cosmetics are Shea Butter, Castor Oil, Coconut Oil, Candelila Wax, Micas and Oxides to name a few. Below I have listed some of their benefits so you can see why we choose to use the ingredients we do;

Shea Butter
Shea butter contains vitamins and minerals such as vitamins A and E, as well as essential fatty acids. It has been used for centuries for its moisturizing, anti-inflammatory and anti-aging properties. See Livestrong.com for more info on why Shea butter is a great all natural moisturizer.

Castor Oil
Castor oil is a vegetable oil widely used for its anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties. It is used in various cosmetics, soaps, textiles, massage oils, and even medicines, owing to the fact that it has plenty of benefits for your skin, hair, and health. See Stylecraze.com for more information on benefits of Castor Oil.

Coconut Oil
There are SO many health benefits of Coconut Oil. Coconut oil contains anti oxidants and is an effective moisturizer on all types of skin including dry, flaking and sensitive skin. It helps in treating dermatitis, eczema, psoriasis while also delaying the appearance of wrinkles and sagging skin making it a great anti aging tool. I use it to remove eye makeup which in turn acts as a moisturizer around my eyes. Fighting those wrinkles and removing makeup at the same time! A double whammy! ;) I use it in my hair for shine, I cook with it and even put it in my coffee! Check out bulletproof coffee if you’re curious! I don’t put the butter in mine. Just the Coconut Oil.

Candelila Wax
An all natural wax used in place of carnauba wax or beeswax. Click here for more on Candelila Wax.

Micas and Oxides
Mica is a naturally occurring group of minerals. In cosmetics and personal care products, mica is used in the formulation of a wide variety of product types, including makeup, nail products and skin care products. Oxides are naturally derived as well and come in shades or red, orange, brown and black, cosmetic manufacturers use them to add color to cosmetic products like eye shadow, blush, face powders, lipstick and mineral makeup. Using iron oxides as coloring agents in cosmetics has some advantages. They're resistant to moisture, don't easily bleed or smear and have "staying power" so you don't have to keep reapplying your eye shadow or blush. They also create intense pigments that have a rich color.

With your skin being the largest organ of the body and it absorbing everything we put on it wouldn’t it make the most sense to go as “all natural” as possible? Research reveals that synthetic ingredients in beauty and personal care products may be linked to Cancer and Alzheimer’s disease. With cancer being on the rise and friends of mine falling ill, it really drives home the need to take as many precautionary steps as possible to steer clear of toxins. We can't stay away from everything but every little bit helps!
